Support Officer (Voids)

We are looking for an organised and customer focused Support Officer to join our Voids Team and play a key role in helping empty properties be returned to use as quickly as possible. This role provides essential administrative and coordination support across the voids process, working closely with surveyors, contractors, Housing Management and Lettings teams to help ensure properties are repaired, inspected and ready for new tenants.

About the Role

As a Support Officer, you will be at the centre of the voids process, coordinating inspections, appointments, records and communications to help ensure properties move efficiently through the voids process and are available for letting as quickly as possible.

You will work with a wide range of stakeholders including residents, contractors, surveyors and housing colleagues, ensuring information is accurate, actions are tracked and enquiries are dealt with professionally and efficiently.

This role requires excellent organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Voids Team
  • Coordinate appointments, inspections and follow-up actions
  • Act as a key point of contact for residents, contractors and internal teams
  • Maintain accurate records, databases, spreadsheets and property information
  • Track progress of void properties and monitor outstanding actions
  • Support the production of performance information and reports
  • Process documentation, certificates, photographs and inspection records
  • Respond to enquiries and provide updates on void related activity
  • Work collaboratively with surveyors, contractors, Housing Management and Lettings teams

About You

We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and committed to delivering excellent customer service. You will have:

  • Experience in an administrative, business support or customer service role
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping skills
  • Experience managing competing priorities and deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence working with a range of stakeholders
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications and data management systems
  • A proactive and solution focused approach to work

Experience of working within housing, property services or a repairs environment would be beneficial, although not essential.
