Job Title: Support Worker Hoddesdon
Starting Salary: £25,583 progressing to £28,142 plus 6% MUSHA payment for weekend working per annum (pro rata for part time)
Hours: 21 - 37

About the team

Isabel Court and Linton’s Close are Supported Living Services which provide flexible supported accommodation for adults with learning disabilities. Providing support to people with a wide variety of associated needs including people with a physical disability. This comprises of support and assistance depending on individual needs around mealtimes, personal care, housework, cooking, attending appointments and supporting with leisure activities.

The people we support at Linton Close live in self-contained flats with 24-hour staffing providing a sleep-in staff member who is available to provide assistance if this is required.

The people we support at Isabel Court live in shared accommodation and 2 self-contained flats with 24-hour staffing including waking night support.

About the role

Working in peoples’ own homes on our sites, to support them with:

  • Meeting their basic daily needs and achieving their goals
  • Personal hygiene, eating and drinking
  • Keeping their homes clean
  • Managing their money
  • Taking their medication
  • Attending health appointments
  • Joining in with social and leisure activities at home and in their local community
  • Updating paperwork using IT systems

In short breaks, people rely on you to support them to enjoy their time away from home while their carers have a well-deserved break.

Essential duties

  • Provide direct support and review support plans
  • Hold or working towards Level 2 HSC award (NVQ/RQF/apprenticeship)
  • Lead and coordinate shifts on a regular basis
  • Formally supervise junior staff
  • Lead on a group home or one part of a service

Shift Patterns

Isabel Court

Early shifts – 07:30 – 14:30/15:00
Afternoon shifts – 14:30/15:00 – 22:00

Lintons Close

If you do a sleep in you will start at – 07:30 until 14:30
Early shift – 08:00 – 14:30/15:00
Afternoon shifts – 14:30/15:00 – 22:00/22:30

About you

Essential:

  • Our services require supporting individuals with personal care including bathroom support, mobility aids, and dietary needs (training provided). This includes the use of moving and handling equipment, so it's important that you're physically capable of performing these tasks safely and effectively.
  • Our roles involve shift work, which may include day or night shifts, weekends, and bank holidays. Some positions also require sleep-in duties as part of the rota. You must be able to commit to the shift patterns above.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a health and social care setting
  • Previous experience working with people with Learning Disabilities and Physical Disabilities.
