💼 Role Overview

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Supported Transport Assistant to help deliver vital transport services across the region. This role supports the English National Concessionary Travel Scheme (ENCTS) and Community Transport initiatives, ensuring smooth operations, financial compliance, and excellent public engagement.

The role will be part of the Public Transport team, in the Place and Connectivity directorate. You will report into the Public Transport Communities Manager.

🔧 What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing administrative support across the public transport team, including ENCTS and Community Transport.
  • Monitoring invoices, payments, and claims for concessionary travel and voluntary transport groups.
  • Administration related to financial transactions and supporting compliance with funding conditions.
  • Responding to public and stakeholder enquiries via phone, email, and written communication.
  • Supporting DBS checks, Taxicard voucher distribution, and safeguarding processes.
  • Assisting with audits, contract monitoring, and community transport board meetings.
What we're looking for

👀 We’re looking for someone with:

  • Education to GCSE Grade 4 / C or equivalent in English and Mathematics.
  • Strong administrative and financial processing experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
  • Good IT proficiency, especially in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to manage workload independently and within a team.
  • Understanding of data protection, confidentiality, and compliance procedures.
  • A proactive mindset with a commitment to service improvement.
