The Role

This post offers an exciting opportunity to enter the leisure industry.

Award winning Salt Ayre Leisure Centre offers an impressive swimming experience, and has the latest in fitness and training equipment, an indoor adventure play area and indoor and outdoor climbing facilities. Not to mention an immersive spinning studio and dedicated training zone.

Your role will be to deliver Swimming Lessons within our Salt Ayre Sharks Learn to Swim Programme and Education Swim Programme.

You will also deliver other swimming related activities during school holidays.

Some work will also include visits to external organizations, educating and raising awareness of water safety, and promoting all the Centre Activities, that we have to offer.

The ability to obtain an enhanced clearance with the Disclosure and Barring Service is essential.

This post is permanent. The hours of work for this position are 4.5 hours per week, covering classes during the week and over the weekend at Salt Ayre Leisure Centre.

This role is career graded. Appointment will be to Grade 6 (£24,404 - £25,584). On completion of the SEQ Level 2 swimming teacher qualification the role holder will move to Grade 7 (£25,584- £30,060) and be expected to use their own judgement and experience to resolve problems not covered by procedures. There may be a requirement to mentor Level 1 swimming teachers.
