Chesnut Lodge Special School caters for pupils aged 2 – 16 years, with complex learning needs arising from physical, sensory and medical difficulties. The school is well resourced and enjoys a high profile within the local community.

Experience

  • Desirable: Experience with PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) or SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties).

While experience of PMLD & SLD teaching would be advantageous it is only essential that the successful candidate be flexible; able to develop positive relationships with all stakeholders and possess the expertise to teach in all areas of the school as required, it is only essential that you are proactive in making learning fun, engaging and relevant to the individual needs of the pupils in your care.

You will be a team worker with a positive outlook and good listening skills with the ability to be both resolute and compassionate in nature.

The successful applicant will be required to complete appropriate training programmes, including those required to meet the physical, including intimate care, feeding, behavioural and medical needs of the students.
