Derwendeg Primary School is seeking to appoint a Teacher to work as part of a friendly, hard-working team, commencing in September 2025.

We are a happy and diverse school at the centre of the local community with 191 pupils on roll. We are situated in the Rhymney Valley and we relish the excitement and challenges that being a school in the heart of the Welsh valleys brings. At Derwendeg we want to give our pupils the best possible start so that they have a passion for lifelong learning.

Applications are invited from dynamic, enthusiastic and committed individuals for the post of Class Teacher at this happy, friendly and caring Primary School.

Governors, staff and pupils are committed to appointing a Class Teacher who:

  • Has an up-to-date knowledge of the Curriculum for Wales and the ALN code for Wales;
  • Is an excellent, innovative and inspiring practitioner with the ability to motivate and engage young learners with a wide range of learning needs;

  • Is confident to lead an area of learning and experience;
  • Has high expectations for school improvement to ensure all children reach their full potential and is passionate about teaching and learning.
