Required from January 2027 (or sooner if possible)

The Governors of Horn's Mill Primary School are excited to offer an opportunity for an exceptional teacher to join our team on a permanent basis.

We are looking for an experienced and ambitious practitioner who shares our commitment to putting children at the heart of everything we do. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly supportive and collaborative school community where staff are valued, developed and encouraged to flourish.

The successful candidate will work in our Year 6 team alongside an experienced job-share partner and will play a key role in preparing our pupils for a successful transition to high school. We are therefore seeking someone with proven Year 6 experience, including the delivery and administration of SATs, and a strong understanding of how to secure excellent academic and personal outcomes for pupils at the end of Key Stage 2.

This post is for three days per week and would suit a teacher with a minimum of M3 experience. Unfortunately, the role is not suitable for an ECT.

As a school, we are fortunate to have a strong and experienced leadership team with the capacity to provide excellent support. The current postholder is an experienced Year 6 teacher who has been appointed as Acting Deputy Headteacher and will remain at Horn's Mill, ensuring continued support and guidance for the successful applicant.

We are particularly interested in candidates who are ambitious and looking to develop their leadership skills. Depending on the experience, strengths and aspirations of the successful candidate, there may be opportunities to lead areas of the curriculum, support and mentor ECTs and trainee teachers, and contribute to the wider strategic and operational leadership of the school. Where appropriate, additional responsibilities may attract a TLR. This role offers an excellent pathway towards senior leadership, supported by high-quality professional development and leadership training opportunities.

At Horn's Mill, our motto:

"Nurture, Inspire, Flourish - An inclusive community of acceptance, adventure, aspiration and achievement"

captures our ethos perfectly. Our children are amazing, our staff are passionate and dedicated, and we pride ourselves on a culture of collaboration, hard work and good humour.

Our recent OFSTED report recognised that:

"Pupils are proud to be part of this welcoming and inclusive school community."

"Staff value the support they receive from leaders and appreciate the consideration given to their workload and well-being."

"The school has high expectations of all pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND)."

We look forward to welcoming a new 'Miller' to our team who will contribute to the continued success of our school.
