Cherry Grove Primary School, Chester, is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and adaptable Cover Teacher. This temporary position, running until August 2026, is dedicated to providing high-quality PPA cover across the school. The successful candidate will teach classes from Nursery to Year 6, delivering engaging learning experiences in line with our curriculum plans. This role would be ideal for an Early Career Teacher looking to gain broad teaching experience, although please note that it will not count towards ECT induction time due to the nature of the post.
The school is a medium-sized primary school with approximately 270 pupils, and takes in pupils from Nursery Aged 3 up to Year 6. The school ethos is ‘We Care...’ and this is a crucial element of how we make decisions and ensure pupil and staff wellbeing. Our core values are ‘Community, Aspiration, Respect and Experiences’.
The successful candidate will work 3 days a week (Monday, Tuesday and Friday) they will have support from an experienced Team leader and also colleagues to help share planning and administrative tasks. We are committed to ensuring a viable work/life balance for our staff.
We are looking for a committed and personable teacher, able to plan, teach and assess to gain the best outcomes for every child, across a range of abilities to including those with special educational needs. A willingness to be part of the school community, take part in after school clubs and support the team are essential to the role. Please also see the person specification.
