Dee Point Primary School has an ever growing 42 place Resource Provision for children with Complex and Moderate Learning Needs. This is run over 4 classes (Willow, Birch, Pine and Oak) and is based around the stage that a child is at rather than their age. The provision is known as The Nest and we follow The Equals Curriculum. Each child has their own EHCP and lessons are tailored to meet these. The job would be a job share in Birch class. This class has 10 pupils and 3 teaching assistants. The other half of the job share is an experienced practitioner. The classroom has different teaching areas within it and there is a mixture of whole class, group and individual work which goes on throughout the day. The Governors and Assistant Head Teacher of Dee Point Primary School wish to appoint a temporary 0.4 teacher to join our hard working and passionate team from January or sooner, for two terms with the view to extend for the right candidate. A thorough understanding and experience of working with children with complex social communication needs is crucial. We are looking for a caring and motivated Teacher to join our Nest Provision. The role involves working closely with the other members of staff within The Nest and outside agencies to provide tailored support that promotes each child’s communication, independence, and engagement in learning. The ideal candidate will be patient, flexible, and committed to helping every child reach their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment. To understand the role clearly, we would strongly urge all prospective candidates to join one of the look round dates available. Please contact the school office to book an appointment to view the school and our provision on the following days and times: Tuesday 2nd December at 4pm If you are unable to make the dates and times stated above, please contact the school office to try and arrange an alternative date to visit. Please email clerical@deepointprimaryschool.cheshire.sch.uk or call 01244 372631 Shortlisting will take place on Friday 5th December and interviews will be held on Monday 15th December. Our school community places the highest priority on keeping our children safe. Applicants for all posts will be subject to stringent vetting and induction processes. The holder of this post will be required to work with children under the age of 18 in a position of trust, and is, therefore, exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The successful candidate will be subject to the relevant checks and enhanced DBS.
