Job description

The Federation of Cowick and Pollington-Balne CE Primary Schools is seeking to appoint a caring, committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant Level 1 to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a named child in our Reception class at Cowick. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers, SEND staff, parents and external professionals to provide high-quality support tailored to the child's individual needs. We are looking for someone who is patient, flexible and able to build positive relationships with children and families.

Criteria

  • Experience of working in an Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) setting.
  • Experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) including supporting children who are neurodivergent, e.g. those with autism and ADHD
  • Ability to support children’s learning, development and well-being.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • A willingness to contribute positively to the life and values of the school.
  • Experience of supporting children with speech, language and communication needs.
  • Knowledge of strategies that support communication, emotional regulation and inclusion.

This post is offered on a fixed-term basis and will cease when the support is no longer required or when the named child leaves the school.
