
Teaching Assistant
Salary: For those with a level 3 qualification: NJC 4-6 (£24,404 - £25,183 FTE annually). For those without a level 3 qualification: The Voluntary Living Wage, £12.60 per hour until qualified.
Hours: 35 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time only)
Contract: Fixed Term until August 31st 2027
Start date: September 1st 2025

We're looking for a dedicated teaching assistant to join our supportive team at New Forest Academy.
We value the skills and dedication of our teaching assistants. To support the best outcomes for our students, we require a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent). If you don't yet hold this qualification, don't worry! We'll invest in your development by enrolling you in our Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Programme, helping you gain the behaviours, skills and experience you need to thrive in the role.
You're someone who'll be able to:
- Improve the learning and attainment of students while also promoting their independence, self-esteem and social inclusion
- Support students so that they can; access the curriculum, participate in learning and experience a sense of achievement
- Provide whole classroom and tailored support in partnership with teachers
- Deliver interventions for groups of children or individuals independently
You're someone who has:
- Motivation and enthusiasm
- Understanding of pupil's learning needs, including specific SEND needs, in order to support their access to lesson content
- The skills to help students to develop independent learning skills
- Ability to deliver individual and small group targeted interventions
- A level 2 qualification in a relevant subject is essential (ie English and Maths GCSEs)

The role is due to commence from September 2025. This is a fixed term position for two years.
