Teaching Assistant:

Temporary (attached to specific pupil)

Grade: 4 £23,114 - £23,893 (SCP 4-6) pro rata, actual salary: £15,755 - £16,286

Hours; 35 hrs. per week (8:30am – 3:30pm), term time only

The Governors of The Acorns Primary & Nursery School wish to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work with us our Early Years setting. The post is initially a temporary position and is attached to a specific pupil. The post will be based in Reception, working with a pupil with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. However, this could be subject to change.

We are looking for someone with who can:

  • Demonstrate prior experience caring for / working with young people
  • Demonstrate experience of working with pupils with Special Educational Needs including carrying out intimate personal care
  • Take the initiative when supporting the planning, delivery and assessment of learning tasks
  • Undertake regular observations and contribute to the delivery of the children’s learning under the direction of teachers and colleagues
  • Demonstrate a commitment to raising standards
  • Demonstrate creative flair to make learning memorable, enjoyable and purposeful
  • Show a clear understanding of continuous and enhanced provision
  • Set high expectations of behaviour and learning for all
  • Reflect on own practice and be keen to develop further
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be a team player and thrive on the challenges of working in a fully inclusive school
