Temporary (3 terms) Full Time Grade 5 (32.5hrs) Teaching Assistant Vacancy in Reception

The Governors of Dee Point Primary School wish to appoint a temporary full time teaching assistant to join our hard working and passionate team from January, for three terms with the view to extend. A thorough understanding and experience of the Early Years curriculum and expectation in this year group is crucial.

We are looking for a caring and motivated Teaching Assistant to join our Reception team, supporting a small group of children with complex learning needs. The role involves working closely with the class teacher and specialist staff to provide tailored support that promotes each child’s communication, independence, and engagement in learning. The ideal candidate will be patient, flexible, and committed to helping every child reach their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment. Experience of working with children with additional or complex needs would be an advantage.

To understand the role clearly, we would strongly urge all prospective candidates to join one of the look round dates available. Please contact the school office to book an appointment to view the school and our provision on the following days and times:

Thursday 13th November at 4pm
Tuesday 18th November at 10:30am
If you are unable to make the dates and times stated above, please contact the school office to try and arrange an alternative date to visit.
Shortlisting will take place on Tuesday 25th November and interviews will be held on Thursday 27th November.

Our school community places the highest priority on keeping our children safe. Applicants for all posts will be subject to stringent vetting and induction processes. The holder of this post will be required to work with children under the age of 18 in a position of trust, and is, therefore, exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The successful candidate will be subject to the relevant checks and enhanced DBS.
