Temporary (3 terms) Full Time Grade 4 (30hrs) Teaching Assistant Vacancy in Nursery

The Governors of Dee Point Primary School wish to appoint a temporary full time teaching assistant to join our hard working and passionate team from January, for three terms with the view to extend. A thorough understanding and experience of the Early Years curriculum and expectation in this year group is crucial. Our Early Years provision needs an excellent practitioner to work each day in our nursery class, which provides a nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged 3–4, including those with complex needs. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting every child’s individual development, promoting independence, communication, and a love of learning through play. Experience or training in supporting children with additional or complex needs is desirable, alongside a crucial commitment to creating an inclusive, safe, and engaging classroom where every child can thrive.

To gain a much clearer and detailed picture of the role, it is strongly recommended you visit the school on the date and times available: Tuesday 18th November at 9:30am or 4pm. This will also help you gain a greater understanding of the pupils’ needs within our nursery setting. If you are unable to make these dates then please contact the school to try and arrange an alternative date to visit. Shortlisting will take place on Tuesday 25th November and interviews will be held on Friday 28th November.

Our school community places the highest priority on keeping our children safe. Applicants for all posts will be subject to stringent vetting and induction processes. The holder of this post will be required to work with children under the age of 18 in a position of trust, and is, therefore, exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The successful candidate will be subject to the relevant checks and enhanced DBS.
