The headteacher and governors of Tattenhall Park Primary wish to appoint a highly motivated, part-time HLTA (0.4) to join our warm, family orientated village school from January 2026. Our school mission statement - 'Roots to grow and wings to fly', allows our children to learn an abundance of essential knowledge in the context of their locality and they compare and contrast this knowledge, as they fly to other parts of the world. We are looking for a highly enthusiastic, experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant, who can help our team to bring our learning to life across the curriculum.
Experience of supporting teaching and learning in EYFS, Key Stage 1 and 2 is essential. You will be committed to making learning accessible, irresistible, inclusive and effective for all the children in our school.
This will be a two-day contract for Thursday and Fridays.
As HLTA, you will be qualified to and expected to plan and deliver lessons in the absence of the teacher, covering PPA time and sickness in line with the requirements of your job description.
You will need to: -
- Have high expectations of pupil outcomes and progress.
- Independently plan and teach groups and classes of learners across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
- Run intervention sessions.
- Teach phonics- knowledge of RWI phonics scheme is advantageous, but not essential.
- Develop good relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
- Be flexible, collaborative and supportive.
- Have HLTA or comparative qualifications.
