Huntington Community Primary School

The Governors of this happy and successful primary school (retained Ofsted ‘Good’ grade, June 2023) seek to appoint an experienced and confident Teaching Assistant who can support children across the school with phonics, reading and writing. We are looking for a team player who has relevant, recent experience, high expectations and a commitment to ensure that the children they support achieve their potential. Particular understanding of the following would be beneficial – Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised, Pathways to Progress and KS2 reading/writing interventions. Excellent interpersonal skills are a prerequisite of the post, and a willingness to contribute positively to our team and to become involved in the wider aspects of school life is also important.

Huntington Community Primary School places the highest priority on the safeguarding of children and all applicants will follow a stringent vetting and induction process, including online searches on shortlisted candidates. As this post involves contact with, and access to children, it will be subject to an enhanced DBS check: any offer of employment will be conditional upon the outcome of this check. You must provide the names and addresses of two referees on your application form.

Candidates are encouraged to research our website to gain an understanding of the school. The closing date is 3pm Friday 12th December 2025, after which shortlisted candidates will be contacted to arrange an interview. Interviews will take place on Thursday 18th December.

This post, commencing as soon as possible, is initially for the remainder of the academic year 2025-26.
