Your new school
The Lift Crescent View is a specialist provision for children with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs. The school is led by a dedicated and experienced Principal, Liz Oakey, who has been with the school for 4 years. She has established a strong, supportive and welcoming team who together achieved a Good Ofsted where it was recognised that ''staff know the pupils well. They use this knowledge to raise pupils' self-esteem and ensure they are ready to learn''.
We teach children across KS1 and KS2 in small classes of 8-10 children, with an ambitious curriculum and increased opportunities for SEMH and personal development. We have high expectations for our pupils and all our staff work alongside the children, families and other professionals to ensure their needs are met. Your new role
The Lift Crescent View is part of Lift Schools, one of the largest MATs in the country, allowing you access to the best training . The role of the Teaching Assistant is to work in partnership with teachers to improve the learning and attainment of students while also promoting their independence, self-esteem and social inclusion. The role provides support to students so that they can access the curriculum, participate in learning and experience a sense of achievement. This role is vital in supporting our students and helping them achieve their potential.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have a L3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent or willingness to work towards this qualification with an understanding of a range of pupil's learning needs. You will have patience in interactions with a variety of students and situations, with a calm demeanour and have empathy to understand the needs and challenges of students and be able to relate to them on a personal level. You will also be somebody who can engage and enthuse students to want to learn.
