Job Description
Hours of work: 16.25 per week.
Working pattern: Part-time, term-time only (working for 39 weeks per year plus 6.05 weeks annual leave, which will increase after 5 years' continuous service).
As the position is part-time/term-time only, the above salary will be pro rata.
Closing date: Monday 12 October, 2026 at 12:00 p.m.
Interview date: Monday 19 October, 2026.

Ashdown Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our thriving school community. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support colleagues to deliver high-quality learning experiences and provide effective support for individual pupils, small groups and whole classes. You will play a key role in helping pupils develop confidence, independence, communication skills and a love of learning whilst contributing positively to their academic, social and emotional development.
The successful candidate will be confident in supporting teaching and learning across the curriculum, delivering targeted interventions and adapting learning activities to meet the needs of all pupils. Supporting pupils with additional needs forms an important part of this role. We are looking for an individual who has high expectations for all learners and is committed to promoting inclusion and achievement for pupils with SEND. Experience of supporting children with autism, speech and language needs, social and emotional needs or EHCPs would be advantageous.
