SALARY: Band D, Point 5 - 6 £24,790.00 - £25,183.00

LOCATION:Lord Derby Academy

ACCOUNTABLE TO: SENCO Lead / Assistant SENCO

In response to increasing pupil numbers, Lord Derby Academy is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, experienced and enthusiastic colleague to join our SEND department as a Teaching Assistant Level 2.

Main Purpose of the Role

To work under the instruction of the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) & relevant staff to:

- undertake work/care/support programmes for pupils, especially those with Special Educational Needs/Disabilities (SEND)

- enable access to learning for pupils and assist the teacher in the management of pupils in the classroom

- assist in the support and integration of children with Special Educational Needs and/or disabilities (SEND) within a mainstream school

Work may be carried out in the classroom and outside the main teaching area. You may be required to supervise groups of pupils undertaking activities in non-teaching situations.
