The Headteacher and Governing Body of Higher Bebington Junior School is seeking a Level 2Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming and successful school. This is initially a 1-year post with a view to extending this further as the need for SEND provision at Higher Bebington Junior School continues to grow.
The successful candidate will be an excellent practitioner with a good knowledge and understanding of how to support children with SEND coupled with a commitment and passion towards inclusion. The majority of your role will be 1:/small group work with children- either alongside them in the classroom or delivering interventions. As part of the role there will also be a requirement for lunchtime supervision and our lunchtimes have recently undertaken a complete overhaul with the introduction of the Outdoor Play and Learning (OPAL) programme.
The successful candidate must have the following qualities: An understanding of and commitment to inclusion and supporting those with SEND needs to enable them to thrive as learners. Knowledge and experience of supporting children with SEND. The ability to develop good relationships with children, colleagues and parents. Be willing to support pupils with modifying challenging behaviour, using the school
Behaviour and Relationships policy. An understanding of how to apply positive, relational, behaviour management approaches. The ability to work constructively as part of a team. A willingness to show initiative and apply common sense.
