Rhiw Syr Dafydd Primary School is looking to recruit an excellent Learning Support Assistant to support a pupil with complex additional needs, 5 days / week, term time only.

The position is advertised as temporary 15 hours per week, 8.30 am - 11.30 pm, term time only (39 weeks). Fixed Term until 31st August 2026

Rhiw Syr Dafydd Primary School is in the large village of Oakdale in the county of Caerphilly. There are 602 pupils aged 3 to 11 years at the school, including 80 pupils in the nursery. The school is a vibrant learning community. Nearly all pupils demonstrate extremely positive attitudes to learning and engage fully in individual and collaborative group tasks. Most pupils display exceptional levels of confidence and independence from a very early age. They are very polite and respectful towards adults and each other and show considerable care and consideration for others.

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, self-motivated and resourceful professional who enjoys working alone and as part of a team. They will establish constructive relationships with all stakeholders and demonstrate excellent communications skills at all levels.

Under the Education (Wales) Act 2014 all Learning Support staff in schools, (which includes the post referred to herein), must be registered with the Education Workforce Council for Wales (EWC) from 1 April 2016.

Your employment will be subject to satisfactory documentary evidence of registration, and continuing registration, as a Learning Support Assistant with the EWC.
