St Margaret’s CE Primary School is looking to appoint someone who is highly motivated and if possible already experienced in being a teaching assistant, for our warm and inclusive school.
The ideal candidate will be able to support and enhance the learning of our pupils with SEND, taking responsibility for 1:1 work, group interventions, and general support of whole classes. The successful candidate must be able to act on their own initiative and work independently and as part of the staff team. They must be flexible, approachable, optimistic and fully committed to providing an excellent inclusive education to all.
Paid weeks per year: 47.36 (inclusive of holiday entitlement)
Fixed term: Until end of July 2026
Start date: October 2025
About the role
The successful applicant will:-
- Be wholeheartedly committed to being part of an inclusive community with previous experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs and disabilities.
- Support specific children 1:1 with tasks, lead group interventions support the wider needs of a whole class as directed.
- Have a good knowledge and experience of the needs of children with SEND, including ASD, SEMH needs, dyslexia and Speech, Language and Communication difficulties.
- Be an excellent team player willing to go the ‘extra mile’ as needed to support the children and the school wider enrichment opportunities.
- Be resilient and able to work independently, flexibly and use their own initiative to respond to the children’s needs.
