Job Description

Overview

The London Borough of Harrow is seeking a Private Sector Housing Team Leader to ensure that individuals and properties comply with statutory requirements and adhere to relevant council policies and procedures concerning Private Sector Housing. The role involves investigating and inspecting properties, taking all necessary follow-up actions to ensure compliance with applicable legislation. The successful candidate will represent the Council as a duly authorised officer, working collaboratively with relevant organisations to promote the safety and well-being of Harrow’s residents, businesses, and visitors. Additionally, the role includes overseeing the effective and compliant delivery of Private Sector Housing services to meet the Council’s statutory and policy obligations, while optimising the use of available resources to achieve the best possible outcomes.


About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Have an excellent knowledge of the range of legislation enforced by the Public Protection team.
  • Full current driving licence.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a demanding and pressurised environment independently and as a team.
  • High standard of written and verbal presentation and communication skills.
  • Competent in the use of standard computer systems.
  • Aptitude for the technical and legal aspects of the discipline.
  • Inclusive team worker who can foster partnerships work Collaboratory across teams to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Ability to work outside normal working hours as may be necessary including response to emergency situation.
