One of the council’s key priorities is Safer Streets and reducing Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB), continuing to make our communities safe places to live, work and spend time in and maintaining Merton’s position as one of London’s safest boroughs. The Safer Streets team lead on this, working in partnership and often leading on a multi-agency response to problem-solving ASB cases to ensure residents experiencing ASB receive an excellent service.
This is an opportunity for someone with strongly developed partnership working, communication and leadership skills to manage and motivate a team of two ASB Officers and an ASB Coordinator in a busy environment and ensure best practice is embraced.
The role involves nurturing close relationships with a range of partners both internal to the council and externally such as the Police and Registered Social Landlords. Knowledge of the ASB Crime and Policing Act 2014 is essential to this role as the successful candidate will be expected to make effective and appropriate use of the tools and powers available.
