Starting Well and MASH Family Intervention
The Team Manager is responsible for managing the operational day-to-day service delivery of the Early Help Family Intervention Service and Universal Plus services. Working in strong collaboration and alongside the MASH Team Managers to ensure children and families receive the right support in a timely manner to prevent the need for statutory escalation. The Team Manager will deputise for their line manager as and when required to ensure that all decisions are taken at an appropriate level.
Manage and oversee staff to ensure effective delivery of services to children, young people, and their families through high quality social work in line with standards of good practice, legislation, and guidance. Ensure robust recording of information on relevant systems and databases in line with standards set.
Managing sickness absence and ensuring service needs are met. Ensure that managerial decisions are recorded in a timely manner within agreed timescales and that there is consistency in appropriate threshold application.
To cover for the MASH Team Manager as and when required. capturing and evidencing the voice of the child Support the Service Manager and Head of Service where required in planning and developing services for vulnerable children, young people, and their families, identifying needs and potential difficulties/challenges, escalating issues as appropriate. To lead in raising awareness in promoting the Early Help offer working effectively with the safeguarding partnership to identify any gaps in service provisions.
Effectively manage budgets and ensure services are cost effective and adhering to good s.17 budget expenditure principles including exhausting all charity provisions such as lighthouse. Responsible for promoting effective quality assurance (QA) pathways within the Family Intervention, including contributing to the MASH dip audits, multi-agency audits and producing summary reports for QA team. Chair established multi-disciplinary meetings including complex TAF meetings and ensuring appropriate representation at wider partnership meetings such as MARAC. To act as the designated SPOC for the NVR (Non-Violent Resistant Programme) promoting the training offer for families. receive a seamless and holistic response to their needs. To act as the first point of contact to Service complaints and draft an appropriate response addressing concerns raised within agreed timescales.
To be responsible for evaluating staff performance including visits, supervision, assessments, ensuring that these are completed within the agreed benchmarks and KPIs. Provide supervision and appraisal to staff in line with standards set and encourage professional development opportunities. Promote systemic, face to face practice, ensuring purposeful work is undertaken by the team with children, young people and families that adhere to timescales and improve outcomes. Provide cover for other managers within the Early Help and Partnership Service at the equivalent grade. Ensure that all supervisions and Performance Development Reviews are completed within timescale The post holder will be required to work out of normal office hours, on a shift rota from Monday-Saturday, which will include evenings and early mornings when required by their Line manager. In emergencies, there may be a requirement to volunteer to work on Sundays.

About You
Relevant Social Work Qualification Registered with Social Work England.
Experience of operational management of diverse statutory teams in a complex or multi- agency working environment. Significant knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance and practices and their implications, in relation to child social care practice. Evidence of managing and influencing the quality of social work practice to meet the needs of children and their families resulting in good outcomes. Experience of influencing service provision in partner agencies over which there is no direct line management relationship. Evidence of success in promoting and implementing (anti discriminatory services within service delivery and adhering to the organization's equal opportunities policies) equal opportunity policies and practices in respect of employment and service delivery. Desirable experience of working within a systemic model of practice and using this demonstrably within own practice including systemic supervision. Experience of setting clear priorities, objectives and standards and delivering to the set Service performance targets systemic model of practice, and using this demonstrably within own practice including systemic supervision.
Skills and Attributes
Ability to provide leadership to the team and collaborating effectively with other professionals, agencies, and stakeholders. Ability to communicate effectively including producing comprehensive analytical reports and good presentation skills. Ability to take responsibility for planning and managing own time, and the workload of the team, balancing competing demands and meeting the objectives and deadlines. Represent the team's interests, identifying gaps in service, and advocating for necessary resources and policy changes to improve outcomes for vulnerable children. Ability to hold a high level of resilience to cope with the pace and a demanding working environment whilst maintaining a positive and supportive work environment for the team.
