Team Manager – Learning Disabilities – Lead with Purpose, Empower with Heart

Are you a confident leader with a passion for supporting people with learning disabilities? As a Team Manager at Peabody, you’ll guide a team of dedicated support workers to deliver high-quality, personalised services that help our customers live independently, safely, and with dignity.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of support workers
  • Provide regular supervision and model best practice in complex cases
  • Oversee assessments, support plans, and reviews to ensure quality care
  • Maintain accurate records and monitor performance using digital systems
  • Work with external agencies to assess referrals and prioritise support
  • Build strong relationships with local services and professionals
  • Promote independence, wellbeing, and inclusion for all customers
  • Manage safeguarding and risk concerns with confidence and care
  • Champion self-advocacy and customer empowerment
  • Lead team meetings and contribute to training and development

What You’ll Need

  • Experience supporting people with learning disabilities
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Confidence in assessing needs and managing risks
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • IT skills and attention to detail for record-keeping
  • A positive, energetic, and empathetic approach
  • Commitment to equality, inclusion, and customer service
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own car
  • A satisfactory DBS check (Peabody pays for this)

Desirable but not essential:

  • Availability to work some weekends and public holidays
  • Understanding of safeguarding, GDPR, and health & safety
  • Experience working with statutory and voluntary sector services

Please Read Before Applying

This role involves travel between sites and working flexibly to meet customer needs, including occasional unsocial hours. A full UK driving licence and access to a car are essential. A DBS check is required.
