Technical Officer

We’re committed to providing homes and services that are safe, well‑managed and easy for residents to navigate. Our approach is Simple, Safe and Smart, and our values shape the way we work together and support our communities. If you’re motivated by doing the right thing, enjoy working in a team that pulls together and want to help keep our homes safe, this role could be a great fit.

About the role

As a Technical Officer, you’ll help ensure our residents’ homes remain safe, compliant and well‑maintained. You’ll support the management of contracts for door entry systems, fall‑arrest systems, access control and other building safety areas.

You’ll review compliance documentation, maintain accurate records, support contractor performance monitoring and help ensure essential works are delivered to the right standard. Your work will directly contribute to our commitment to keeping residents safe.

What we’re looking for

To help us shortlist effectively, we’re looking for candidates who can clearly demonstrate the following:

  • Strong compliance background. Experience in construction compliance, health and safety, fire safety/fire risk assessment, or building safety systems. Able to review technical and compliance documents and identify whether they meet required standards.
  • Ability to prioritise safety‑critical work. Confident assessing risks, organising tasks, and managing multiple compliance actions at the same time.
  • Skilled with systems and data. Comfortable using Excel, databases, SharePoint or compliance portals to keep accurate, up‑to‑date records that support safe decision‑making.
  • Values‑led approach. Someone who works with kindness, honesty and collaboration, and consistently does the right thing.

Why join us and why choose housing?

Because every task you’ll complete helps keep someone safe in their home. This is a role with purpose, and you’ll see the impact of your work every day.

We celebrate diversity, love new ideas, and keep our promises. You’ll be part of a team that pulls together to deliver high-quality services and make a positive impact every day.

If our values resonate with you and you want to help deliver services that are Simple, Safe and Smart, we’d love to hear from you.

Here’s what you’ll get when you join us:

  • Flexible and hybrid working
  • 30 days' annual leave, plus bank holidays
  • Up to 10% pension contribution, matched 1:1
  • Two additional paid volunteering days each year
  • Flexible benefits scheme, including options for healthcare, dental care, and more
