Job Title: Temporary Accommodation Officer
Salary: £33,531 – £38,052 per annum
Grade: D
Contract Type: 12-month Fixed Term Contract
Working Hours: 37 hours per week

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity as a Temporary Accommodations Officer within our Temporary Accommodation Service and are looking for a keen candidate to join the team. The main purpose of the role is to provide advice and assistance to households whilst in temporary accommodation. Being a key contact officer in the housing management, lettings and allocations of the Council’s temporary accommodation housing stock.

The role will include you managing a dynamic and diverse caseload alongside a variety of households and client groups, some of whom may be vulnerable. You will be liaising with appropriate internal departments and external agencies. Supporting and directing clients to access a broad range of housing services and where appropriate making the relevant onward referrals and signpost to other services.

What We are Looking For

You will be personable, organised and resourceful and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. You will have experience of dealing with vulnerable and complex clients. You will be a self-starter with a “can do” approach to your work and to the wider housing team objectives.

You will bring with you:

  • Good knowledge of housing management processes.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise own workload.
