Family Support Worker JD.pdf – 174KB Closing Date 06 November 2026 23:55We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and committed Family Support Worker to join our team at an exciting time in our school's journey.
Guided by our vision of Care, Opportunity and Success, we are working hard to raise standards, improve attendance, strengthen safeguarding and inclusion, and ensure that every child has the opportunity to succeed.
We know that achieving this means looking beyond the classroom, building strong relationships with families and working together to overcome the challenges that can sometimes get in the way of children's learning and wellbeing.
That's where you come in!
We are looking for someone who can make a real difference by supporting our safeguarding work, helping families to improve attendance and punctuality, and strengthening relationships between home and school.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play an important role in our school improvement journey, helping us to develop how we support and engage with families and ensure that children receive the right support at the right time.
This is a unique temporary job which is for 3 days a week until August 2027 and then 2 days a week for the next academic year ending in July 2028.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is approachable, caring and able to build positive, trusting relationships with children and families.
- Has a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and is confident in recognising concerns, recording information accurately and working with other professionals.
- Is passionate about improving attendance and punctuality and can work with families to identify barriers and find practical solutions.
- Has experience of supporting families who may be facing a range of challenges.
- Can encourage and strengthen parental engagement, particularly with families who may find it difficult to engage with school.
- Understands the importance of early help and working closely with external agencies.
- Is organised, proactive and able to manage sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.
- Is resilient, positive and determined to make a difference.
- Enjoys working as part of a team and shares our commitment to giving every child the best possible opportunities.
In return, we can offer:
- A welcoming and supportive staff team.
- The opportunity to play a key role in our school's improvement journey.
- The chance to help shape and strengthen our approach to safeguarding, attendance and family engagement.
- Opportunities for professional development and working alongside external partners.
- A varied and rewarding role where your work can make a real difference to children and families.
We know that some of our families face significant challenges, but we also know that strong relationships, high expectations and the right support can make an enormous difference.
We are looking for someone who shares our ambition for our children, believes in the importance of working together and wants to be part of a school that is determined to make a difference.
If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you!
