
Tenancy Management Officer
We are looking for an experienced Tenancy Management Officer, to join our skilled and friendly team. You will have experience of managing mixed tenure properties and take a proactive approach to neighbourhood and tenancy management.
About the role
You will be proactive and professional and be adept at tailoring your approach and service according to individual situations and circumstances. You will work closely with residents to ensure they can sustain their tenancies and maintain their homes to a good standard to fulfil our landlord statutory obligations for compliance, and to meet Decent Homes Standards.
You will use relevant tools, interventions and tenancy enforcement action, where necessary, to manage tenancy breaches, or anti-social behaviour. You will work with residents to develop cohesive communities and areas where people want to and are proud to live.
You will work in partnership with other agencies and third parties to support residents who may have complex needs or a number of vulnerabilities. You should be experienced in recognising and taking action in relation to any Domestic Abuse or Safeguarding concerns. You should have experience of and be confident to have challenging or difficult conversations in order to achieve the best possible solutions and outcomes.
You will be responsible for providing a full housing management service for a patch of properties, across the Tandridge District.

- Have a good standard of education, including literacy and numeracy skills.
- Have prior substantial experience of working in this field.
- Have excellent customer service and communication skills, in person, in writing and on the telephone.
- Are highly organised and able to work without much supervision.
- Are comfortable working in and leading a team, working flexibly to support your colleagues.

Local Government Reorganisation
Surrey is part of the government’s plans for local government reorganisation. This means the current two tier system, where services are split between Surrey County Council and district and borough councils like Tandridge, will be replaced with larger councils, which handle all local services.
Although this may lead to some uncertainty for anyone considering a role with us, we need to continue to provide services.
When local government is reorganised, most staff will transfer to the new council on their current terms and conditions. Being part of a larger organisation may offer additional opportunities for career development and variety. The majority of the roles we currently have will still be needed whether that is for planning, housing, recycling and waste, finance, IT, HR etc.
