Make a Difference in Lancaster
Join us as a Tenancy Relations Officer and play a vital role in supporting the Renters’ Rights Act, protecting tenants, and ensuring landlords meet their legal responsibilities. Your work will help reduce evictions and homelessness through early intervention and mediation, improving housing standards and fostering a fair, safe community for all.

What You’ll Be Doing
You will provide clear advice to landlords and tenants on their rights and responsibilities, investigate complaints such as harassment and illegal eviction, and take enforcement action when necessary. Working closely with partners, you’ll mediate disputes to achieve lawful, sustainable outcomes and represent the Council at tribunals and courts. Your role will also involve contributing to policy development and raising public awareness of tenancy rights.

You’ll Fit Right In If…
You have experience in housing, particularly with vulnerable households, and are skilled in mediation and negotiation. You bring strong knowledge of housing law and enforcement, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently while managing your caseload effectively. You share our values of Working Together, Ambition, Pride, and Ownership, and are committed to making a positive impact in the community.
