We are looking for a Tenant Engagement Officer, on a temporary basis for up to 12 months, to join our busy and firendly team.

In this role, youwill work directly with tenants to strengthen and embed tenant engagement across the Council’s housing services. You will actively support involved tenants and help recruit new voices, ensuring that tenants’ experiences, views and scrutiny shape how housing services are designed and delivered. Your work will help make tenant engagement meaningful, outcome focused and part of everyday decision-making, ultimately improving services and making a real difference to people’s lives.

You will build and maintain strong partnerships with statutory, community and voluntary organisations, alongside colleagues and engagement peers developing approaches that focus on the impact of engagement. The role calls on your experience in tenant and community engagement, your understanding of best practice (including digital involvement), and your ability to communicate confidently with a wide range of audiences. You will bring resilience, creativity and enthusiasm to empowering tenants to hold the Council to account, with some flexibility to work outside normal office hours when required.

We’re an ambitious, forward-thinking Council with strong values and a culture of doing our absolute best to serve our customers. We are proud of our organisational culture and receive positive feedback from our employees. We have a programme of internal activity to ensure that the voices of our employees are always heard and that they are kept informed on all Council activity and events. From roadshows to an annual award ceremony, from reviewing working arrangements, it is incredibly important our employees are shown how valued they are and that they remain the beating heart of our workplace.

We offer:

  • Enrolment in the career average local government pension scheme.
  • Flexi scheme.
  • Hybrid working.
  • A generous annual leave entitlement that increases with service.
  • Family-friendly benefits.
  • One days’ paid volunteering leave.
  • Lifestyle benefits platform.
  • Funded health cash plan.
  • £10 a month gym membership at one of our four gyms in the district.

You will be working with a professional, committed and experienced team who are passionate about supporting us to deliver our ambitions as outlined in our Community Plan.
