The Role:

Are you pro-active and customer-focused with a keen eye for detail? We’re looking for a Tenant Move Coordinator to join our Council Housing team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference by supporting our tenants to access the best housing options available to them.

You will play a key role in promoting the efficient use of the council housing stock. You will support tenants who wish to move, including those looking to downsize, and champion mutual exchange as a viable solution.

You will need to demonstrate a real commitment to providing excellent customer care with a resourceful approach to problem solving.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Proactively identify tenants who are interested in downsizing and guide them through every step of the moving journey.
  • Promoting and facilitating mutual exchanges as a housing option.
  • Maintaining and validating applications on the online exchange system.
  • Assisting tenants with property adverts and advising on standards. .
  • Organising and assisting with supported moves.
  • Working creatively to raise awareness of mutual exchange through social media, newsletters, and other channels.
  • Undertaking viewings and sign-ups throughout the district.

What We’re Looking For

  • Knowledge of social housing and social housing properties within the Lancaster district.
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade C or above) or equivalent.
  • Previous experience dealing with the public in a busy, customer-focused environment.
  • Excellent IT skills, including use of Excel, databases, and social media.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving attitude.
  • Ability to work flexibly, under pressure, and as part of a team.
