    Would you like to work in a friendly team, earn a great salary and keep our city clean and safe?

    We’re on the lookout for people who enjoy working across different locations to join our permanent public toilet cleansing team.

    It’ll involve driving from site to site keeping our public toilets clean and well stocked. Applicants will need to hold UK driving license as they will be required to drive between the sites.

    This is a 4 days on, 4 days off shift pattern, 8am-8.30pm shifts during summer months (April- September), then 8am-6pm during winter months October -March.

    About the role

    Brighton & Hove City Council is recruiting 1 cleansing operatives to clean public toilets.

    The job involves:

    • Cleaning sinks and surrounding areas including walls and mirrors
    • Cleaning toilet pans and seats
    • Removing graffiti
    • Sweeping and washing the floors
    • Emptying bins
    • Removing drug paraphernalia safely
    • Replenishing toilet paper and soap
    • Reporting damaged cleaning equipment
    • Reporting maintenance issues such as broken locks and dispensers
    • Driving between the sites to open, clean and close

    You will need to be:

    • able to be on your feet all day
    • self-motivated and able to work on your own as well as part of a team
    • hard-working, reliable and responsible
    • able to interact with members of the public

    Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
