Trade Supervisor – Plumbing – Lead High‑Quality Repairs and Support Our Frontline Teams
Are you an experienced plumbing professional with strong leadership and commercial awareness? As a Trade Supervisor – Plumbing at Peabody, you’ll support the smooth delivery of our responsive repairs service across a wide geographical area. You’ll lead operatives, drive first‑time‑fix performance and ensure all work is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
This is a hands‑on supervisory role where your technical expertise, organisation and customer‑focused approach will make a real difference. You’ll review works daily, support operatives and help improve service outcomes for residents.
What you’ll do
- Lead and support plumbing operatives to deliver safe, high‑quality responsive repairs
- Drive first‑time‑fix performance through effective van stock and materials management
- Review incoming and completed works daily, adding technical insight to improve service quality
- Ensure all repairs are completed in line with current regulations, Health & Safety and company standards
- Update PDA devices with schedules, job progress, images and key information
- Work with operatives and managers to agree targets, KPIs and performance improvement plans
- Ensure accurate completion and maintenance of all required documentation
- Liaise closely with planners, managers, contractors and supply‑chain partners
- Maintain Peabody’s corporate image and professional service standards at all times
- Work flexibly to support service delivery, including occasional evenings and weekends
What you’ll need
- City & Guilds / NVQ qualification in Plumbing (or equivalent experience with strong references)
- SSSTS or IOSH qualification
- Asbestos Awareness training
- Proven experience in a domestic repairs and maintenance environment
- Multi‑trade discipline experience
- Strong understanding of Schedule of Rates
- Experience managing van stock to reduce non‑productive time
- Confident use of PDA/handheld systems including job updates and photo uploads
- Excellent verbal communication, planning and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of the London area
- A full UK driving licence
