
Trainee Pest Control Technician

This is a fixed term position for 2 years.
We're excited to offer an incredible opportunity to be employed full time by Stoke-on-Trent City Council for a minimum of two years whilst training to be a qualified pest control technician.
The successful postholder will be fully supported to train and study to achieve a British Pest Control Association/Royal Society of Health Level 2 Pest Management Award whilst working within the Pest Control Service todevelop the knowledge, skills and experiences that will set you up for a successful and exciting career in pest management.
Being a pest control technician is a unique and rewarding job. A typical week working might see you visiting people in their own homes to resolve pest problems, surveying a business to advise on preventative controls, working on a sewer baiting programme or responding to an urgent report of a problem affecting a council building and so much more.
Key Skills and Experience
- We are looking for someone with:
- Minimum of four GCSE passes (including English and Maths Grade 9-4 (A-C) or equivalent Functional Skills Level 2. GCSE English and Maths at grade C or higher, or the equivalent.
- Experience, in paid or voluntary roles, of providing a service to others, of working in a team, and of independent decision making.
- Driving Licence (Category B) with no more than 6 points and willingness to drive an appointed Council fleet vehicle.

- £26,016 - £27,274 per year
