Description

Derbyshire Constabulary are looking for Transferee Detective Sergeants to join our Criminal Exploitation Team Criminal

Join as a Detective Sergeant and be on the front line of serious organised crime!

The Criminal Exploitation Unit leads high impact investigations into County Lines, Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking, protecting vulnerable children and adults most at risk of criminal exploitation.

You will supervise and manage a hybrid team of friendly and highly driven, Police Constables, Detective Constables and Detective Staff Investigators undertaking both reactive and pro-active, intelligence-led investigations, operations, and enforcements.

You will undertake a variety of professional development activities including intelligence development, serious organised crime, proactive policing, covert policing, cross boarder policing, safeguarding, exploitative criminality and partnership working.

You must be achieved in rank of Sergeant.

What you'll be doing:

  • You will lead the initial response to serious and complex crime investigations and ensuring the team performs to a high standard and investigations are thorough.
  • You will lead pre-planned and spontaneous enforcements.
  • You will ensure that officers/staff conduct investigations in a timely manner.
  • You will ensure victims are kept updated in line with their wishes and The Victim’s Code.
The role is predominantly Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00, however a degree of flexibility is required with the need for extended or adjusted shifts at short notice to meet operational demands.

Applicants must gain PIP2 accreditation, ensuring successful completion of the Initial Crime Investigators Development Programme, (ICIDP) which includes passing the National Investigators Examination (NIE), attendance at a two-week intermediate interview course and a five-week ICIDP course, followed by completion of a portfolio.

Please ensure you meet the transferee eligibility requirements which are:-

  • Be a member of a Home Office force or Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) or Police Scotland (please note we cannot accept an application to transfer from an officer serving with a non-Home Office police force).
  • Have a full manual driving licence.
  • Have no outstanding discipline or integrity issues.
  • Be confirmed in rank
