About the team
The Transport Co-ordinator will be an integral part of the Fleet Operations Team within the Integrated Passenger Transport Unit.
The Integrated Passenger Transport Unit (IPTU) delivers transport for Adult Care Services and home to school transport, ensuring an accessible and cost-effective service for the residents of Hertfordshire. This will contribute to creating a cleaner, greener and more sustainable Hertfordshire.
The Transport Co-ordinator is responsible for overseeing the provision of transport put in place to meet the service needs, and this includes the investigating of any issues reported on transport provided, management of staff resources and co-ordination between clients, families, establishments and the IPTU.
We are looking for a confident individual, capable of using their initiative to work effectively in some complex and challenging situations.

About you
Essential:
- Excellent writing and oral communication skills to deal with a wide range of customers, staff and service users
- Knowledge and experience of vehicle routing and scheduling together with a broad knowledge of transport legislation
- Experience of collating and interpreting data
- Ability to identify the specific needs of the service user through the information provided in order to meet transport requirements
- To work independently and with the team to provide an efficient and cost-effective service
- Willingness to learn and adopt HCC policies and procedures
- Computer literate, especially Microsoft 365
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Able to work flexibly to cover the out of hours requirements of the service
- Driving licence essential as post holder is required to carry out spot checks/meetings at locations within the county

Driving required
