    We are seeking a Travellers Liaison Manager to lead our work in supporting Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities across Brighton and Hove.     About the role

    We are looking for a Traveller Liaison Manager to lead a dedicated team who provide advice and support to Travellers on housing, welfare, and access to essential services. Additionally, you will coordinate multi-agency responses to complex cases and encampments.

    You will act as the primary point of contact between the council and Traveller communities.

    You will lead a team on the management of the council’s Traveller site, and the council’s response to unauthorised encampments, ensuring a fair and consistent approach.

    A key part of the role involves developing and maintaining strong relationships with community representatives, support agencies, and internal departments to support joined-up working.


    • You need to have proven experience working with Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities or other marginalised groups.
    • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
    • Knowledge of relevant legislation including equalities, and safeguarding.
    • Ability to manage sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
    • Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.

    Additional information

    Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
