
Traveller Site Officer - 12 months fixed term
About the role
We are looking for a Traveller Site Officer to deliver front‑line housing management services on North Northamptonshire Council’s traveller sites. You will provide a first‑class, customer‑focused service, including income collection, arrears support, coordinating repairs as well as all aspects of site management.
A key part of the role is building strong relationships with residents, improving customer satisfaction, and increasing engagement across our sites and services.

What will you be doing?
The Traveller Site Officer will provide visible site management, coordinate repairs and maintenance, and ensure health and safety compliance.
They will work closely with residents, addressing behaviour concerns, supporting those with complex needs, and promoting positive engagement.
Duties include managing site operations, overseeing voids and allocations, supporting income collection and arrears recovery, and taking appropriate legal action when required.
The role also involves accurate record‑keeping, preparing reports, responding to enquiries, and contributing to service improvements and performance targets.

- A good understanding of issues affecting the travelling community including law and legislation.
- Knowledge of housing legislation, regulation and case law.
- Experience of working with people who may find themselves in difficult situations and who may have multiple/complex needs including challenging behaviours.
- Experience of managing and prioritising own workload without supervision to meet demands and targets.
- A willingness to learn, take on new challenges and support colleagues across the service.

Salary range
- £34,434 - £36,363 per year
