Unit Catering Supervisor (Grade 3) 25hrs per week
Lancashire County Council provide catering services to over 500 schools across Lancashire, serving over 60,000 school meals per day and we are looking for committed individuals to join the service.
You will lead and work as part of a team within Meadowhead Infant School, Blackburn, producing fresh, high quality, healthy, balanced meals to school children each day. You must have previous experience in kitchens. With a proven track record in similar position.
Key responsibilities:
Cook and serve food and beverages in accordance with agreed menus and production plans.
Direct and/or supervise other employees.
Order supplies and store deliveries
Maintain records and stock control.
What we are looking for:
Recognised catering qualification and/or food hygiene certificate would be desirable.
Experience of catering for large numbers is also desirable.
Working Hours 25 per week, 5 hours per day. Monday – Friday, Term time only.
Plus, four cleaning days.

Local Government Reorganisation
The Government has confirmed that local government across Lancashire will be reorganised, with the current 15 councils being replaced by four new unitary councils covering North, South, East and West Lancashire from April 2029.
If you are successful in your application, you will initially join Lancashire County Council. However, as part of the planned transition, your employment will transfer to one of the new unitary councils from April 2029, subject to the implementation of the reorganisation and relevant employment legislation.
