An exciting Vice Principal opportunity to lead on the quality of education or quality of care.

    Your new school
Lift Schools is an ambitious MAT made up of 59 schools, 12 in the Midlands, and we pride ourselves on providing the best training (including NPQH) and career opportunities. Part of Lift Schools, Lift Tamworth is a secondary school that has been on a phenomenal journey having two consecutive years with improving outcomes and a third forecast alongside 'Good' in all areas during a recent Ofsted.

Lift Tamworth is led by a dedicated Principal, Jon Spears, who has successfully built a purposeful atmosphere around the school where pupils focus on their learning. Not only is Jon a brilliant leader but is passionate about social mobility and the need to give opportunities (and high expectations) to those in the local community. He expects all leaders to constantly question if the school is giving the students the best education and if not to challenge existing practices until they are.

    Your new role
This is a genuinely fantastic opportunity and has arisen as the outgoing VP has secured a Head of School role. The exposure this role gives alongside being part of such a forward-thinking Trust will allow you to do the same in the future should that be your aspiration.

You will join a welcoming and dedicated senior leadership team who have contributed enormously to the success of the school. Would you like to help shape the next phase of our journey? We are focusing on academic excellence, high performance and being the school of choice in the town.

We are looking for someone who wants to lead on the quality of education or quality of care. Jon is happy to make changes depending on the candidate. The areas we need to work on, outside of helping to improve outcomes and attendance, are driving and empowering other leaders to be the best they can be and helping to show all stakeholders what excellence looks like. There is some heavy-lifting to do, we all have to lead from the front and do the things we expect of others.

    What you'll need to succeed
You will be a passionate and experienced leader, who is still very ambitious, with a track record of successfully initiating and delivering whole-school improvement initiatives. You will have the ability and want to develop others - by having high expectations and clear goals, targeting support wisely and holding to account in a supportive but rigorous way. Lastly but most importantly you will feel passionate about our mission to provide 'every child the best education possible, regardless of background, geography or ability'.

    We offer you:
A work-life balance: Limited meetings and CPD built into your working day.
Comprehensive training: Access to some of the best developmental training to boost your career.
Generous benefits: From your pension plan to healthcare and financial support, we've got you covered.
Lifestyle perks: Enjoy discounted gym memberships, travel deals, and even electric vehicle incentives.

Please note, we will be reviewing applications and interviewing as soon as we find suitable candidates, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.

If you would like a confidential discussion before applying and/or a tour of the school please contact us.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should we receive an overwhelming response. All candidates are advised to refer to the job description and person specification before making an application.
Lift Schools are committed to ensuring the highest levels of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils, and we expect all our people and volunteers to share this commitment. We adopt a fair and consistent recruitment process which is inline with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance. This includes online checks for shortlisted candidates. All offers of employment are subject to an Enhanced DBS check, references, and where applicable, a prohibition from teaching check.
Lift Schools embraces diversity and promotes equality of opportunity. Job share, part-time and flexible working opportunities will be considered.
We are a Disability Confident Employer and there is a guaranteed interview scheme for candidates with disabilities who meet the minimum selection criteria.
