    About the role:

    Horsham District Council is looking for a Volunteer Advice and Support Coordinator to help facilitate the journey of volunteers in Horsham District by working with individuals and voluntary sector organisations to secure positive and fulfilling volunteer roles in the local area.

    As Volunteer Advice and Support Coordinator you will work within the Voluntary Sector Support team whose work is to support charities, volunteers and community groups operating within the Horsham District of West Sussex. Voluntary Sector Support forms part of Horsham District Council’s Community Services team.

    You will be the first point of contact to individuals enquiring about local volunteering opportunities and support to charities and voluntary organisations in their volunteer recruitment process. The role involves managing the Voluntary Sector Support website (www.volunteerhorshamdistrict.co.uk ) and is part of a small, friendly team whose work is to enable a vibrant and independent voluntary sector within the Horsham District.

    About you:

    To succeed as Volunteer Advice and Support Coordinator you will be a solution and customer focused person who has experience in dealing with a range of people from different backgrounds. You will have knowledge of legislation and guidance on volunteering and the charity sector. You will also be a competent IT user who is highly detail orientated and is able to work within a team and on your own initiative. This role requires traveling around the District and is an essential car user post, therefore you will need a current and full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
