The Integrated Corporate Services (ICS) is a new shared corporate service, launched in July 2023. It provides corporate services (HR, Finance, Digital, Commercial, Security and Estates) across the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero (DESNZ) and the Department for Science, Innovation & Technology (DSIT).

Job description
The role and our team
The Wellbeing Team is part of the Health, Safety and Well-being (HSWb) function within Integrated Corporate Services (ICS), supporting multiple government departments. Led by the Head of Health, Safety, and Wellbeing, our team of ten is collaborative, purpose-driven, and committed to delivering meaningful impact. You will report to the Senior Wellbeing Advisor and play a pivotal role in supporting our staff’s well-being.
As a Wellbeing Advisor, you will work with the Wellbeing team to assist in the delivery of wellbeing services, campaigns, and engagement activities tailored to departmental needs. You will need to be proficient at communicating with a diverse audience; enthusiastic about the improvement of wellbeing across the Departments; and develop a thorough understanding of our resources to better assist the Departments in their awareness of the offer.
You will collaborate with the wider team as well as key stakeholders such as Wellbeing Champions and networks, to ensure all communications are widespread, articulated correctly, and up to date. There will be many interesting and unique projects to be involved in, with many opportunities for you to directly deliver content whether through presenting on resources and the latest wellbeing data, or awareness articles published via the intranet. These activities will support change, improve staff wellbeing and strengthen organisational resilience.
You will act as a wellbeing liaison, using your interpersonal communication skills to work with a variety of stakeholders and peers in the Departments we work with.
Person specification
- Prepare and analyse data such as Health and Wellbeing Survey results, sickness absence, event feedback and bespoke projects. Ensuring the data is presented in an easily digestible manner for various stakeholders.
- Draft articulate articles and communications pieces around wellbeing events and awareness days.
- Organising and drafting the monthly Health Safety and wellbeing newsletter for wider distribution for stakeholders in both Departments. Updating both the newsletter intranet page as well as other Wellbeing pages to ensure all resources and information available to staff is up to date.
- Keep work trackers up to date with regular spreadsheet management, ensuring the team has a clear record of wellbeing projects and is kept regularly informed of work progress.
- Assist in the management and distribution of the annual Flu Vaccination scheme available to staff. Answering queries on the available scheme and ensuring staff are aware and able to access it.
- Provide administrative support in the form of minute taking; creating and managing presentations; coordinating meetings with different stakeholders including external suppliers and contacts; arranging and managing the PO’s and invoices from various providers; answering wellbeing queries and supporting the team mailbox.
- Occasionally travel to other offices for wellbeing initiatives, team events etc.
Essential criteria
We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Proficiency in various Microsoft tools, including but not limited to: Excel, Outlook, Pages, SharePoint and PowerPoint. A question will be included at interview regarding understanding of Excel.
- An understanding of the importance and impact wellbeing can have on individuals and the Department.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well with a range of stakeholders, as well as effectively convey varied and complex information to diverse audiences.
- Discreet with an understanding of confidentiality issues.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, as well as being comfortable working on your own initiative when needed.
- Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to be flexible and adaptable based on priorities.
- Ability to research, digest, analyse data and present the materials clearly and concisely.
- Good attention to detail.
- Previous administrative experience.

Office attendance
