In this role, you will teach and guide learners in the design and production of a variety of wooden products. You will encourage creativity and innovation, helping individuals transform recycled and reclaimed materials into high-quality, marketable items. A key part of the role is inspiring learners to think creatively, problem-solve, and take pride in their work.

Our workshop is fully equipped with a wide range of tools and machinery, including CNC machine, lathe, and a variety of power tools. You will be responsible for demonstrating safe working practices, maintaining a secure and organised environment, and ensuring all work is carried out to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver practical, engaging training in woodworking and product creation
  • Support and motivate learners of varying abilities to achieve their potential
  • Encourage creativity, particularly in the use of recycled and sustainable materials
  • Operate and supervise the use of workshop equipment safely and effectively
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times
  • Contribute to the development of new product ideas within the social enterprise

About You:

  • Passionate about teaching and developing others
  • Skilled in woodworking or practical crafts, with the ability to use workshop tools and machinery
  • Creative, with an interest in upcycling and sustainable design
  • Patient, adaptable, and able to engage individuals in a custodial environment
