The Opportunity and the context

We are looking for an experienced Programme Lead to develop and execute the local Get Britain Working Plan and oversee the commissioning of a prime organisation to deliver Connect to Work across Cambridgeshire & Peterborough.

This role is a new and exciting opportunity within the Skills & Employment Team. Reporting to the Assistant Director for Skills & Employment, you will lead the work and health agenda for Cambridgeshire & Peterborough, working closely with the Mayor to
support his priorities.

Additionally, the post offers the chance to work within the Integrated Care Board/services for up to two days a week, strengthening the partnership between the
Combined Authority and the Integrated Care Board.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading and implementing an effective work, health, and skills strategy. This strategy aims to reduce the number of economically inactive adults with health conditions and enhance the work and health system throughout the region.
  • Leading the Connect to Work Programme and Local Get Britain Working Plan.
  • Collaborating with all partners and stakeholders to achieve the national and regional CPCA and Integrated Care Board objectives and agreed priority outcomes.
What we're looking for

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Extensive experience in developing, managing, and delivering corporate or strategic projects and programmes.
  • Extensive experience within the NHS, Integrated Care Partnership, Public Health, Local Government, or Mayoral Combined Authorities.
  • Experience in writing and implementing local, regional, or national policies related to health and employment.
  • Experience in implementing and delivering Supported Employment programmes using both the IPS and SEQF models of supported employment.
  • Experience of budget management for complex programmes of work
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups at all levels.
  • You will have knowledge of Local/Central Government and devolution deals.
  • Specific experience within Central/Local Government/Combined Authorities would be advantageous.
