Full time

Fixed term with strong possibility of permanent

As our school continues to grow, we are seeking a passionate, experienced Year 2 Teacher and Phase English Lead to join the dedicated and forward thinking English team at Grove Street Primary School.

At Grove Street, we are deeply committed to evidence informed practice and to creating a love of reading and writing in all our children. While we have a strong history of delivering a bespoke and highly effective writing curriculum, this year we have undertaken a complete redesign of all our English units. These have been carefully crafted in line with current research and guidance, with a strong focus on high quality, engaging texts that inspire both children and staff. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to, refine and embed this ambitious curriculum, helping to shape the next stage of our journey.

This role goes beyond the classroom. As a Phase English Lead, you will be instrumental in developing teaching practice across the school, working alongside a skilled, supportive and welcoming team. We are intentionally growing our team to create greater capacity for high quality coaching and professional development across all phases and provisions. You will play a central role in this, supporting colleagues through a collaborative and nurturing approach that builds confidence, consistency and excellence in teaching.

We are committed to investing in our staff and this role offers strong potential for career progression. Whether you are looking to further develop your leadership skills, broaden your whole school impact or take the next step towards senior leadership, you will be well supported through coaching, professional development and opportunities to lead and influence across the school.

At Grove Street, mental health and wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do, not only for our children and families, but for our staff too.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a school with a deep-rooted commitment to developing its staff and leaders. We value and champion our team, and place a strong emphasis on professional trust, ensuring colleagues are given the time, autonomy and support to develop their practice and take on leadership opportunities.
