Are you an enthusiastic, skilled and nurturing teacher who is ready to make a real difference in Year 2?

We are seeking a committed and reflective teacher to join our dedicated and supportive team to cover a period of maternity leave in our Year 2 class. This is a full-time role, likely to begin after the October half term, with the exact start date to be confirmed.

At Weston Village Primary School, part of The Cornovii Trust, we place children at the heart of everything we do. We are proud of our warm, inclusive ethos, high expectations and strong relationships with families. Our children are enthusiastic, well behaved and keen to learn and our staff work closely together to make sure every child is supported to achieve their best.

This is an exciting opportunity to teach a lovely Year 2 class at an important stage in their school journey. The successful candidate will have strong classroom practice, a secure understanding of the KS1 curriculum and the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.

We are proud of our high standards, vibrant learning environment and our Secrets of Success ethos, which underpins everything we do. You will be joining a forward-thinking and welcoming school where staff are valued, supported and encouraged to develop professionally.

We are looking for a teacher who:

  • Has excellent classroom practice and high expectations for all pupils
  • Has a secure understanding of the KS1 curriculum, assessment and progression
  • Is confident in teaching early reading, phonics, writing and mathematics
  • Creates a calm, purposeful, inclusive and engaging classroom environment
  • Uses assessment well to adapt teaching and support pupils' next steps
  • Works effectively as part of a team and has strong communication skills
  • Builds positive relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues
  • Brings energy, warmth and professionalism to the role
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

We offer:

  • A positive, supportive and forward-thinking staff team
  • Enthusiastic, well-behaved children who love learning
  • High-quality professional development, coaching and trust-wide opportunities
  • A strong safeguarding culture and an inclusive ethos
  • Supportive colleagues across KS1 and the wider school
  • A well-resourced and welcoming learning environment

We welcome applications from experienced teachers and ECTs with a passion for helping children thrive in Key Stage 1.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and encouraged - please contact the school office on 01270 814848 or head@weston.cheshire.sch.uk to arrange a look around.

To apply, please visit 'The Cornovii Trust' website and apply online, via the recruitment platform vacancy page.
