Bitterne CE Primary School is looking for an enthusiastic and committed part-time Year 3 Class Teacher to join our team from January 2027, covering until the end of the academic year.

This is a three-day-per-week position, working as part of a job share. We are looking for a teacher who will work closely with their job-share partner and the wider Year 3 and KS2 team to provide a happy, consistent and ambitious experience for our children.

At Bitterne, our vision is "Together we soar." We are a welcoming and inclusive Church of England primary school where relationships matter, children are known as individuals and staff work together to continually improve what we offer.

We are looking for a teacher who:

• is an enthusiastic and effective classroom practitioner with high expectations for every child;

• is committed to providing high-quality, inclusive teaching;

• builds warm, positive relationships with children and creates a classroom where they feel safe, valued and ready to learn;

• has a strong understanding of effective teaching, assessment and adaptive practice;

• is reflective, open to professional development and keen to continually improve their practice;

• works well as part of a team and will communicate closely with their job-share partner to ensure consistency for pupils;

• is organised, reliable and willing to contribute positively to the wider life of our school; and

• shares our ambition for every child to achieve well and enjoy their learning.

What can we offer you?

You will be joining a friendly and supportive school team with a clear focus on improving outcomes for children.

We can offer:

• a welcoming school with a strong sense of community;

• enthusiastic children who are keen to learn;

• a supportive Year 3 and KS2 team;

• a clear curriculum and established approaches to teaching and learning;

• supportive phase and senior leaders;

• opportunities for professional development, coaching and collaboration;

• a school that values staff expertise while maintaining high expectations for teaching and learning; and

• a positive and inclusive Christian ethos built around our values of Hope, Courage and Creativity.

We would be pleased to hear from you if you are excited by the opportunity to make a difference to our children.
