About the Role
Oaklands Primary Academy is seeking to appoint an experienced and highly effective Year 5 Class Teacher to join our dedicated and ambitious team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a strong classroom practitioner who is passionate about delivering high-quality teaching and securing excellent outcomes for pupils. We are looking for a teacher with high expectations, excellent subject knowledge and a proven ability to inspire, challenge and motivate learners as they prepare for the transition into Upper Key Stage 2.
The successful candidate will join a supportive and collaborative staff team committed to ensuring every child achieves their full potential, both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver consistently high-quality teaching
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that challenge and inspire all learners
• Use assessment effectively to identify next steps, secure strong pupil progress and raise attainment
• Maintain high expectations of behaviour, achievement and presentation
• Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to drive standards and contribute to whole-school improvement
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and the wider school community
• Contribute to the wider life and ethos of the school
Key Requirements
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Proven experience of successful teaching within Key Stage 2
• Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and effective teaching strategies
• A track record of securing strong pupil outcomes
• Strong understanding of inclusive teaching and meeting the needs of all learners, including those with
SEND
• High expectations for pupil achievement and behaviour
• Ability to inspire, motivate and challenge learners
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to continuous professional development
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
